FAQs

Is the service for both genders?

  • No. All therapies are only for females.

Where does the therapy take place?

  • Floatwell, 6 Salisbury Villas, Station Road, Cambridge, CB1 2JF

Do you offer home visits?

  • Preferably only to the immobile or elderly.

Does wet cupping (hijama) hurt?

  • Hijama should NOT hurt as only superficial light incisions are made on the top layer of the skin. They are so light that no blood is actually seen until the area is suctioned with the cup. Some people have described hijama as scratches.

Does wet cupping (hijama) leave a scar?

  • Wet cupping (hijama) does not leave a permanent scar. The small scabs usually fall off naturally within 3 - 10 days.

  • Keeping the cupped area moistened with oil is the key.

  • Diabetic clients take slightly longer to heal.

Do you practice safe hygiene?

  • Absolutely. Only new cups are used for every client. New gloves, disinfectant swabs, blades, aprons and wipes are used for each session.

  • A disinfectant swab is used before the incisions take place.

Deposit

  • To secure a booking a £10 deposit is required. This will be deducted from the therapy fee.

Is it permissible to have wet cupping (hijama) when menstruating?

  • It is highly recommended not to be menstruating during your wet cupping (hijama) session, unless you experience irregular periods or need hijama urgently and there is no other occasion it can be performed.

Is it safe to have cupping whilst pregnant?

  • Both dry and wet cupping (hijama) are NOT recommended during the first and last trimester, unless one is overdue and would like the cupping to help with the hormonal encouragement to bring on the labour naturally.

  • During the second trimester, dry cupping is permissible.

Cancellation Policy

  • At least 24 hours notice is required should you need to cancel your booked appointment. Deposit refunds cannot be issued if appointments are cancelled within a 24 hour period.
